Dominic James
Dominic James was a high school All-State player. He led Indiana in scoring for the 2005 season. The honors piled up as this young man played for Indiana’s North Central Conference. Out of the gate, James made a huge impact on the court for Marquette. He was named Rookie of the Year and All Rookie for the conference. He started in every game for the season. The highlights of the season were numerous. He scored twenty-two points against Rutgers, sixteen points at Pittsburgh, twenty-nine points at DePaul, and twenty-eight at West Virginia. James showed that he wasn’t afraid to take over a ball game. He won Player of the Week awards many time in that first season. In his sophomore year, the AP awarded him Honorable Mention for All-American. So many other All-American awards came his way for that same year. During the CBE classic he scored just under forty points. Against Easter Michigan, James scored a team high 17 points. During the week of January 22nd, he won Big East player of the week. He grabbed a season-high nine rebounds and ten assists against Notre Dame in February. Finally during the NCAA tournament, he scored 18 against Michigan State. For 2007-08 he made finalist for the Bob Cousy Award, was named All-Big East second team, and the Rival.com All-Big East second team. He had a career high in assists. This came while he scored just under twenty points per game. Games by game highlights include a three for three in the 3 point range against Notre Dame. He scored 25 points against Villanova, fifteen points against Georgetown, and 15 points in the NCAA round against Kentucky. When it was time to play Wisconsin, James had six assists, scored twenty points and hit his 100th three pointer in that game. He has cracked the top twenty in all-time scoring for Marquette. He ranks in the top five for assists. Considering the fact that James has one more year to go, he will surely break the top-ten in scoring. He is a key piece of the puzzle for the upcoming season. Dominic had an opportunity to play on the Milwaukee Bucks practice squad.
