Nicknamed, Big Joe, Fulce played at Plano Senior High School. Coming from the same junior college as Jimmy Butler, Fulce will have a friend on the team.

Fulce is a big fan of the Dallas Mavericks, and Rasheed Wallace.

He is one of three players to be recruited out of Texas, where Buzz Williams had spent time before coming to Marquette.

He was a Second Team All American in 2007. He scored 16.6 points, and over one dozen rebounds while attending junior college in Texas.
