Coming out of Julian High School in Chicago, he played in 27 games as a freshman. He had double digit rebounds in one of his first games as a Golden Eagle. He started against Charlotte, and scored just under ten points. Ousmane established himself as a solid rebounder in his first season.

As a sophomore, he started in 14 games, played in every game, started in the Great Alaska Shootout, where he had a career high in scoring. When playing in the Seton Hall game, he scored five points and pulled down four rebounds in nine short minutes of play.

As his Junior year played on, he racked up 29 rebounds in the last three games of the year. He had three blocks in two consecutive games, and scored 21 points in 34 minutes against Northwestern State.
