Playing at St. Bernard high school in Minnesota, Trevor Mbakwe went on to Marquette.

Sadly, Mbakwe quit the team in hopes of transferring to Minnesota. Instead, he attends Miami-Dade Community College. There are stories that he may play for Miami, but nothing can be confirmed. His knee injury shortened his freshman year at Marquette, and there were hopes that he would be an impact player off the bench.
